Pitch Us
The Chief Brief is looking for sharp, rigorous journalists and writers based outside the traditional media centres — and inside the stories that the rest of the world is still catching up to.
We are an independent platform built on a simple conviction: the most important stories are not always the ones with the loudest megaphone behind them. If you are reporting from a region, industry, or community that deserves a global audience, we want to hear from you.
We pay for stories. Every time.
What we are looking for:
Stories that are critical to their region but impossible to ignore globally. Business and economic reporting with real consequence. Leadership and power — who has it, who is gaining it, and what they are doing with it. Policy, trade, and geopolitical shifts told from the ground up, not the press release down. Investigations. Profiles. Dispatches that make a sophisticated international reader stop and pay attention.
Regions of particular interest:
Regions where significant things are happening and quality editorial coverage remains thin.
We are not looking for:
Opinion that substitutes for reporting.
Press release journalism.
AI generated stories (we'll know).
Stories that require a Western frame of reference to make sense.
Content that could have been written from anywhere, by anyone, without leaving the room.
Before you pitch:
Read us. Know what we publish and how we publish it.
Then send us a tight paragraph on your story — what it is, why it matters now, and why you are the person to tell it. Include two or three examples of your previous work and any social media output related to them.
We read everything. We respond to pitches that fit.
